Talk about trippy audio adventures through the human psyche. For a 2 song release this is that little extra in extraordinary. Consisting of Lindz Riot and Kitty Thompson this symphonic duo constructs 2 very well-arranged piano driven ballads.
Your Mind; A slow tempo ballad beginning with a piano melody reminiscent of Evanescence and progressively being built upon with FX filtered vocals and an electric cello, culminating with a fuller sounding reiteration of the beginning.
Where You Go; Starting off with a tempo synced tremolo covered piano that builds towards an epic climax which doesn’t come, instead it instantly calms and progressively hooks the listener into listening further. Throughout the song there are several builds that lead the listener into expecting a massive wall of distorted guitars backed by a slow but heavy drum pattern.
It’s very clear that Schoolcraft put time into pre-production and arrangement because all of these songs flow like a stream. One major problem I found with this release is that when you start listening you don’t want to stop. That’s only a problem because of how short it is, you end up listening to the same tracks repetitively and eventually burn them out.
I can’t think of a particular crowd to aim this release at because I don’t think someone could not enjoy this. Stream it, buy it, show it off.

Well known for her voice in the band Mary and The Black Lamb, Lindz Riot is taking the reins yet again in her first ever solo effort ‘Schoolcraft’. Native to Canada, the classically trained vocalist and pianist draws new inspiration from nature, fantasy, trip hop beats and symphonic orchestration. All this while keeping the simplicity of piano driven pop ballads. I have a two track single (digital only release) that I am reviewing here. The single itself’ ‘Your Mind’, is an awesome and beautiful piano led ballad, while ‘Where You Go’ develops a little bit of electronica in to the mix, in what is another cool and exquisite number. It is rather difficult to score just two tracks, but let’s just say this release is simply divine and stunning! (Dave)

Well known for her voice in Mary and The Black Lamb, Lindz Riot has embarked on a solo effort called Schoolcraft. “Your Mind” is the first single from her upcoming EP and it really casts a new light on the classically trained vocalist and pianist. This is a simple, yet moving piano driven tune that really gets in your head. I think the beauty of it lies in its simplicity.
The piano/string arrangement allows the dreamy like quality of Riot’s vocals to really shine through creating an ethereal sort of vibe that is as entertaining as it is soothing. After listening to this song a few times I can honestly say I am looking forward to hearing the rest of the EP.
